A restrained bench exploring warmth, shadow, and architectural contrast.

The Tillikum Black — Walnut Bench pairs solid Black Walnut with matte black supports to create a sculptural seating piece suited to entryways, bedrooms, dining spaces, and contemporary living interiors.

Designed by Kirk Van Ludwig and handcrafted in Canada.

Designed Around Warmth and Contrast

The Tillikum Black — Walnut Bench explores the relationship between natural warmth and architectural restraint.

A solid Black Walnut seat is elevated on matte black supports, creating a clean horizontal form defined by proportion, shadow, and material contrast. The combination of warm walnut grain and dark structural elements gives the bench a quiet sculptural presence suited to contemporary interiors.

Designed by Kirk Van Ludwig and handcrafted in Canada, the Tillikum Black Bench is intended for entryways, bedrooms, dining spaces, hospitality interiors, and living environments where calm material presence is preferred over visual excess.

Each piece is made to order using sustainably sourced hardwood and finished in natural oil and wax to preserve grain depth and tactile richness.
