The Tillikum Black — Douglas Fir Bench explores the relationship between raw timber presence and architectural restraint.

A thick solid Douglas Fir seat is elevated on matte black supports, creating a sculptural form defined by proportion, shadow, and material contrast. Natural checking, knots, and grain variation remain intentionally visible, giving each piece a distinct sense of character and permanence.

Designed by Kirk Van Ludwig and handcrafted in Canada, the Tillikum Black Bench is suited to entryways, dining spaces, bedrooms, hospitality interiors, and contemporary environments where warmth and material honesty are preferred over ornamentation.

Each piece is made to order using sustainably sourced timber finished in natural oil and wax to preserve tactile richness and grain depth.

Simply use a damp microfibre cloth. We recommend Osmo wash & care to retain lustre. Avoid soap cleaners, do not use glass cleaners on acrylic furniture.
