The process began flattening the single Walnut piece by long board sander, making sure to retain thickness on the edges for proportions. Rather than filling with epoxy, Autonomous filled voids in the wood with complex inlays, some are evident, some are hidden and grain matched. Working the wood surface close to 200 hours.
Set on angled blackened steel legs for a dramatic industrial effect with a centre stretcher bar along the underside for strength. The leg placement is meant to maximize seating around the table.
