Our one-of-a-kind Sculpted coffee table has a natural flow that could not be interrupted. A modern take on natural wood with clean, curved edges following the life lines of the grain. Designer Kirk Van Ludwig felt swayed to maintain the thickness of the wood allowing it to flow naturally. One-third of the tabletop has a gradual slope that enhances the curvaceous shape of the coffee table. Set on minimal clear acrylic legs to allow maximum light to flow through.

    • Contemporary design of a sculpted wood tabletop contrasting the polished acrylic legs with natural solid wood top.

    • Designed by Kirk Van Ludwig, five-time Designer of the Year finalist for Western Living magazine. A modern furniture aficionado.

    • 55" L x 23 to 26" W x 15.5" H.

    • Western Red Cedar in storage since 1971.  Original cut date unknown, suspected to be 1960.  A local Vancouver Island forester collected and stored the piece in his basement.  This piece has been air drying in our private collection since that time.

    • Solid wood tabletop, finished in a natural oil and wax, with clear acrylic frame and legs.

    • Care and maintenance: Simply use a damp microfibre cloth. We recommend Osmo wash & care to retain lustre. Avoid soap cleaners, do not use glass cleaners on acrylic furniture.

Why buy an Autonomous Furniture piece?
Our Environmental Philosophy and Quality Standards
We tailor. If you see something you like, but perhaps it does not quite fit your space, talk to us about what unique alterations to size and material are available.
Our furniture pieces are meant to last decades, we believe it's better to invest in a piece you love and will use for years, rather than buying cheaply made, poor faux material furniture that you'll need to replace every year or so. Our pieces can easily maintain their pristine condition.
You can put your feet up on our furniture pieces, they won't wobble. We want you to use them well, no dainty maneuvers required.
