Kaiwa - loosely translated from Japanese meaning conversation. The intention was to angle the ends of the table creating multiple conversation lines between occupants. The biased grain direction, skewed leg direction, and crease lined edge create different looks depending on ones orientation to the table. Designed by Kirk Van Ludwig.

Shown in sustainably sourced Douglas Fir and finished with a natural hard wax oil finish.

96" L x 42" W x 29" H (4" thickness).
Available in Natural fir (shown) or Whitened fir.
Finished in natural hard wax oil.

Autonomous makes beautiful furniture pieces that ship Internationally

When I first moved to Victoria and had blinds installed and some updates done by Design One Stevens, the owner told me that I should contact Kirk Van Ludwig at Autonomous Furniture as she had told him about my place and my search for the right table. I said 'thank you' but waited a year before contacting Kirk - having had other priorities in setting up a new home.
But once I contacted Kirk and met him at my home, where he took great interest in creating a unique table design, and I visited his shop and met the Autonomous group - all extremely dedicated and talented people - I knew I had come to the right place. Kirk designed a one-of-a-kind table and I also ended up buying a set of nesting tables that he had stained to my taste to match my decor. Besides making a beautiful table, Kirk gave me design ideas which I followed up on.
Although I am late in posting this review, I have to say that Autonomous makes beautiful furniture pieces that ship Internationally. I feel privileged to have had this group design a table for me!
